Haute 100 NY Update: Hillary Clinton Joins Twitter
Hillary Clinton created a Twitter account today — a highly awaited and anticipated moment for Tweeters worldwide. The Former Secretary of State opened her account to the public and “verified” it, pushing aside doubts that her previous private account was illegitimate. Following her lighthearted and jovial nature, her first tweet referenced a comedic tumblr sensation, “Texts from Hillary,” that pairs photos of Clinton and her cell phone with clever captions.
Her debut tweet? “Thanks for the inspiration @ASmith83 & @Sllambe – I’ll take it from here… #tweetsfromhillary”
Her intriguing bio? “Wife, mom, lawyer, women & kids advocate, FLOAR, FLOTUS, US Senator, SecState, author, dog owner, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, glass ceiling cracker, TBD…”
Although Clinton has already garnered over 150,000 followers, she only follows her husband, Bill Clinton, his initiative and foundation, and their daughter, Chelsea.
