Noted ambassador and diplomat to Spain Ramón Gil-Casares presented the prestigious diplomatic honor, Orden de Isabel la Católica (Translation: Order of the Cross of Isabella the Catholic) to philanthropist Adrienne Arsht in Washington D.C., earlier this week, where the Haute-lister has a home.

The nearly 200-year old medal, with its intricate gold and yellow ribbon details, is presented to both Spaniards and foreigners alike for their contributions toward Spanish-speaking countries.

Arsht, with her generous contributions to now-established institutions such as New York’s Lincoln Center and Miami’s Center for the Performing Arts, recently donated $5 million dollars to Atlantic Council to build a new center in Latin America.
