Babakul Opens Second West Coast Location in Malibu

Contemporary women’s line Babakul will open their second Los Angeles location this weekend in Malibu. There will be an opening party held at the new location this weekend on June 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Founded by business partners Kym Gold and Sophie Wizmann, Babakul, meaning ‘hippie’ in French, was launched in 2008 with a focus on “core wardrobe silhouettes that could carry over from season to season, according to the brand’s website. Babakul’s flagship location opened in 2010 and is located in Santa Monica.

Kym Gold was raised in Malibu and is the former coowner/co-founder of True Religion Brand Jeans. Sophie Wizmann is a Moroccan-born and Canada and France raised self-made business woman with extensive design experience.

Celebrity fans of Babakul include Miley Cyrus, Rachel Bilson, Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Alba and more.

The new Malibu store, which will include Babakul’s new summer collection, will be located at the Malibu Country Mart at 3835 Cross Creek Road Ste. 21.
