14th Annual Orange County Arts Awards Honorees Announced

The nominees for the 14th annual Orange County Arts Awards have been announced. The event will take place on September 24, recognizing lifetime achievements in the arts and accomplishments during the past year.

The 14th annual Orange County Arts Awards will be held at the Samueli Theater in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa on September 24. Established in 1995, Arts Orange County  is a nonprofit, countywide arts council, which supports a “vision to establish the county as one of the top creative communities in the nation,” according to the website. It also serves as a catalyst for leadership on arts issues, a sponsor of programs and services to enhance public awareness of arts activities and a promotion tool for the development of the arts and arts education.

The 2013 Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award honorees are Bowers Museum President Peter C. Keller; arts philanthropists S. Paul and Marybelle Musco; Fullerton Friends of Music founder Beulah Strickler; and Laguna Beach gallery owner Peter Blake.

The 2013 Achievement Award honorees include the Laguna College of Art + Design (Outstanding Arts Organization); New Swan Theater, University of California, Irvine – Claire Trevor School of the Arts (Outstanding Contribution to the Built Environment); and sculptor Andre Woodward (Outstanding Artist).

Tickets for the 14th annual Orange County Arts Awards ceremonies only wil be available for purchased beginning August 1.
