Zac Posen Brings Down the House at SF Ballet Auxiliary Fashion Show
It was glamour, it was gorgeous, it was Zac Posen! The oh-so-handsome and charming designer showed his Fall 2013 collection at the 32nd Francisco Ballet Auxiliary Fashion Show at the Fairmont Hotel.
Saks Fifth Avenue and San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary welcomed Zac Posen as guest designer at the 32nd San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary Fashion Show, where he showcased his Fall 2013 Ready-to-wear Collection. Chaired by Claire Stewart Kostic, the lavish event benefited the San Francisco Ballet. O.J. Shansby, San Francisco Ballet Trustee, served as the Honorary Fashion Show Chair.
The lunch hour was abuzz during the cocktail hour that preceded the show. Over 500 well-dressed A-listers-anyone who is anyone in San Francisco- showed for the event. Guests anxiously took their seats as Posen (who was Project Runway Season 11 Guest Judge) wow’d the crowd with several pieces, starting with evening separates and a surprising number of pants. Signature Posen; his clothes were detailed, detailed, detailed. Soutache embroidery, origami draping and folds were integrated into each piece.
But it was the gowns ruled the crowd. It was all about deep hues, drama and timeless glamor. Deep autumnal colors were definitely the theme, but some of the real show-stoppers were the few surprises of off-white and brightly colored gowns. (Our favorite was the canary yellow duchesse style with gold soutache embroidery above). And who could resist the tastefully pulled back hair and burgundy lips?
The lunch was followed by a trunk show at Saks Fifth Avenue, which has partnered with SFBA on the event for 16 years running.
Zac Posen, you’ve left us breathless and wanting more! Luckily for us, Posen said that he plans to return to the West Coast next Fall.
