Haute Event: Elton John Performs at Nancy Davis’ Race to Erase MS Gala
Nancy Davis’ annual Race to Erase MS benefit was made even hauter this year by the special appearance of Sir Elton John.
The iconic singer sang a full set of tunes specially for honoree and friend Sharon Osbourne.
Both The Talk host and her son, Jack, were honored by Davis’ organizations for educating the public about MS, which Jack was diagnosed with last year.
$1.8 million was raised at the Friday evening “Love to Erase MS”-themed gala, held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

The 20th Annual Race to Erase MS included a live auction called by Howie Mandel and Shaun Robinson, during which lucky bidders walked away with items including a five-night stay at Vomo Private Island Resort in Fiji, a week charter of a gorgeous yacht to the Bahamas, and the new Aston Martin Centenary Edition DB9 auctioned in celebration of the iconic British sports car’s 100-year history.
Taio Cruz kick-started the performances with a small set before John took the stage to serenade the crowd with hits like “Tiny Dancer”, “Rocket Man” and “Philadelphia Freedom.” In Race to Erase MS tradition, a rendition of “Lean On Me,” was performed as the finale of the evening, led by Aly & AJ Michalka and Greg Phillinganes, who were joined on stage by Nancy Davis, Cybill Shepherd, Marg Helgenberger, Kelly Osbourne, LaToya Jackson, David Faustino and Kim Richards.
