Talk about brand loyalty! New York Knicks all-star Iman Shumpert recently sported the adidas logo in his hair, but the NBA told him to remove it because it violated official league rules.

Shumpert, an adidas endorser, is featured in a new adidas-Champs collaborative commercial alongside Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller. Nonetheless, the league insisted that “the only article bearing a commercial ‘logo’ which can be worn by players is their shoes,” citing the official rules book.

Not wanting to push the issue, Shumpert shaved the logo and tweeted an apology. “#banned…sry @nba didn’t realize there were branding issues wit da logo #iPUToN.”
