Michael Jordan Weds Yvette Prieto In Palm Beach

Basketball legend and current owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, Michael Jordan, exchanged vows this weekend with 35-year old former model, Yvette Prieto in Palm Beach, Florida. Jordan and Prieto met five years ago and became engaged last December. The wedding was held on Saturday at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea with about 300 guests in attendance including Scottie and Larsa Pippen, Tiger Woods, Spike Lee, Patrick Ewing and Ahmad Rashad.

The ceremony was followed by a reception in Jupiter, Florida at Jack Nicklaus’ private golf club, the Bear’s Club, near the NBA champion’s home. The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed music by DJ MC Lyte and performances by K’Jon, Robin Thicke and Usher who performed with, The Source, an 18-piece band. The wedding cake was a white, seven-layer rum cake covered in white fondant and sugar crystals, and finished off with the couple’s monogram at the top. The couple and guests then ended the night with a show of fireworks.

Prieto wore a sheer sheath gown designed by J’aton Couture with nude accents and embellished with Swarovski crystals. Rather than except traditional wedding gifts, guests made donations to the James R. Jordan Foundation; and the wedding flowers were donated to the Jupiter Medical Center.
