For the ninth year, the highly anticipated and prestigious La Martina Miami Beach Polo World Cup returns to the sands of South Beach from April 25 to April 28 between 20th and 22nd Streets.

La Martina Miami Beach Polo World Cup is a four-day, globally renowned sporting event featuring top polo players who compete in two tournaments for both men and women. On April 25, the La Martina South Beach Women’s Polo Cup V will take place, featuring eight women’s teams in a one-day series of round-robin championship matches. Last year’s champions, Cecelia Cochran and Alicia Harden will defend their title and compete against Pamela Flanagan, Christina Hosmer, Tiffany Busch, Stephanie Kraml-Suttle and Lynn O’Connor, among others.

The three-day men’s tournament, the La Martina Miami beach Polo World Cup IX will begin on April 27 and run through April 29.

This tournament will include six teams that include some of the world’s top-ranked players, like Jamie Morrison, Vince Mesker, Guille Usandizaga, Luis Escobar, John Gobin and Kris Kampsen.

Bruce Orosz, president and founder of The Polo Life, LLC, said, “This year’s La Martina Miami Beach Polo World Cup is one step closer to our 10-year anniversary and we are very proud to have La Martina as our new Title Sponsor – a valued partner that has been with our event from the very first year. All eyes are on this year’s tournament as we continue to expand our Beach Polo concept internationally.”

This year’s event will include the annual series of nightly VIP events, such as a fashion show by La Martina in the VIP tent with DJ Irie. The post-event awards ceremony will be held following each tournament and finalists will receive trophies from sponsor representatives.

General admission to both tournaments and the adjacent Aventura Mall retail village is free, however VIP tickets are available that allow entrance to the shaded Grandstand where food and beverages will be served. Ticket prices are $100 for April 25 and $130 for April 26-28. A percentage of tickets sales will benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami, the tournaments official charity partner. If you plan to attend multiple days, you can purchase a three-day VIP pass for $375, and a four-day VIP pass can be purchased for $450. Tickets are now on sale at www.miamipolo.com.
