Get Red Carpet Ready: The Countdown to the Sonoma International Film Festival Begins
Get ready to step and repeat on a star-studded red carpet. The Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF) has a stellar line-up planned for its 16th annual event, which runs Wednesday, April 10, through Sunday, April 14.
SIFF is proud to honor Golden Globe-winning actress Mary-Louise Parker (of Showtime’s TV series Weeds) with the Sonoma Spotlight Award, joining previously announced honoree, Demián Bichir (also from Weeds, and Oliver Stone’s Savages) at a Tribute event taking place on Saturday, April 13. The two stars will join Ray Liotta (of Goodfellas) and dozens of filmmakers at this year’s intimate celebration of unforgettable film, food and fine wine on Sonoma’s Historic Plaza.
One could not ask for a more perfect setting – the historic destination in the heart of California Wine Country – to enjoy one of the nation’s top destination film festivals. SIFF presents over 100 films, including 7 Premiere films, shown at 8 venues, all within walking distance of Sonoma’s historic plaza.
Kevin W. McNeely, SIFF’s Executive Director, remarked, “This year’s program features films that will transport audiences all over the world from Russia to Italy, Venezuela to Nepal, Iran to Iceland, and more, with such themes as Music & Arts, Environmental, LGBT, Sports & Action, Spanish-language Vamos al Cine and, of course, Food & Wine.”
