Haute Event: Donna Karan Celebrates ‘Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts’ at Urban Zen
Donna Karan joined forces with the Council of Fashion Designers of America and eBay to celebrate the launch of “Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts” at Urban Zen on Thursday. Nearly 150 CFDA members, including Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Nicole Miller, personalized papier mâché hearts that were created by Haitian locals. The collection will be auctioned on eBay from April 22 to May 2.
“I was blown away by the creativity,” Karan told Women’s Wear Daily. “Each one is so unique. The only way I can call it is a couture collection.”
100% of proceeds from the auction will benefit Urban Zen Foundation’s efforts with Haitian artisans. Notable attendees included Hugh Jackman, Kenneth Cole, Vera Wang, Rachel Roy, Olivier Theyskens, Zac Posen, Maria Cornejo and Charlotte Ronson.
