This Friday, Santa Barbara’s iconic hotel El Encanto is opening a new restaurant called The Dining Room and Terrace, led by Patrice Martineau of Daniel, following major refurbishments.

Situated on seven-acres perched above Santa Barbara, El Encanto’s Dining Room and Terrace will feature “coastal California cuisine with Japanese-Franco touches,” according to Los Angeles Grubstreet. They will also roast their own coffee, brew their own home-brewed, unpasteurized beer, and source vegetables and herbs from the hotel’s Chef Garden. Dishes will include a burger styled on the one at Club 21, dashi-poached halibut, uni toast and more. According to the Santa Barbara News-Press, Martineau “may also be paring some of the restaurant’s 3,000-bottle strong wine list with tasting menus.”

The Dining Room and Terrace will open this Friday at 5 p.m.

As the name of the restaurant indicates, El Canto’s website notes, The Dining Room and Terrace has both indoor and outdoor dining options where guests can enjoy “locally sourced, artisanal ingredients.”

Among the many amenities of the luxury hotel, for those who wish to take a picnic lunch during a ride on of the property’s custom-made electric bikes, they can have one prepared by El Encanto chefs.

Nightly room rates begin at $525, including tax, for a Superior Bungalow.
