Novak Djokovic + Pete Sampras Team Up for Charity at the LA Tennis Challenge Exhibition

News | March 5, 2013

nole_samprasThe dream team of Novak Djokovic and Pete Sampras were paired together for The LA Tennis Challenge at UCLA on Monday evening.

Djokovic, the world’s number one ranked tennis player, first defeated Mardy Fish before playing with Sampras.

Unfortunately, the duo lost 10-7 to Southern California natives Bob and Mike Bryan.

The assembled crowd didn’t care about the loss though — they were more than happy to see their tennis heroes walk down the first-ever red carpet at the Pauley Pavilion, which recently underwent a $137 million renovation.

The event, which was sponsored by K-Swiss, Audi and 10sBalls.com, will be broadcast today at 4 pm on The Tennis Channel.

Players will be playing for charity with proceeds from the event benefiting the Justin Gimelstob Children’s Fund, the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation, the Novak Djokovic Foundation, Call to Cure and the Southern California Tennis Association’s community tennis initiatives.
