Musical Based on the Novel ‘The Fortress of Solitude’ Coming to Broadway Next Year
A new musical based on Jonathan Lethem‘s celebrated 2003 novel “The Fortress of Solitude” is coming to Broadway for the 2014-2015 season, according to The Associated Press. The book tells the tale of two children raised by single fathers in Brooklyn during the 1970s. Throughout the story, both boys become endowed with superpowers. The musical will be directed by Daniel Aukin, with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, who also wrote songs for “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.”
