Haute 100 New York Update: Martin Scorsese’s Newest Project ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ Gets Release Date
Martin Scorsese‘s latest project entitled “The Wolf of Wall Street” is slated hit theaters on Nov. 15 — just in time for awards season. Based on former broker Jordan Belfort‘s best-selling memoir, the film is Scorsese’s latest collaboration with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and is already being hailed as a likely contender in the 2013 Oscar race.
“At its heart, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is about the rise of new ‘modern’ gangsters in New York. Wall Street gangsters that redefined excess, greed and arrogance. We’re excited to see Mr. Scorsese take the reins of this visceral, tumultuous ride,” Riza Aziz, one of the film’s producers, previously told The Hollywood Reporter.
The all-star cast also includes Jean Dujardin, Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal, Cristin Milioti, P.J. Byrne and Ethan Suplee.
