Haute 100 New York Update: Alicia Keys Believes that Fashion Should Be Comfortable
Like most women, Alicia Keys loves shopping for shoes. But instead of traipsing around the city in sky-high stilettos, the Grammy award winning musician prefers to wear comfortable sneakers. Keys recently teamed up with Reebok for a second collaboration, updating classic model the Reebok Freestyle.
“I want to wear them every day, not just because they’re mine,” she told People at a launch event for the sneakers, “[but] because they look great and because they’re comfortable.”
In her latest design, Keys aimed to fuse comfort and style by adding a small wedge heel that’s still enjoyable to wear every day. “Evolving and becoming a woman has really changed my style,” explained the 32-year-old mom. “Style should be comfortable. You should feel great [when you] put it on – although some shoes I wear are not very comfortable. But my sneakers are!”
Keys’ new sneakers will be available on Reebok.com starting April 1.
