In the latest installment of Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winning Storefront Company’s (1941 West North Avenue) ongoing Discovery Dinner Series, chef/partner Bryan Moscatello will be co-hosting a dinner event with the founders of Kolossos Olive Oil. Giorgios Karayannis and Edward Billys will be speaking about all things olive oil as it relates to cooking at the dinner on Tuesday, March 19th as it will be the focal component in every course. The versatility of the ingredient will be showcased in everything from olive oil fondue to olive oil cake.
“Olive oil is one of my favorite things; it’s robust flavor shines in both savory and sweet dishes,” says Moscatello. “The Kolossos team is passionate about what they do, and they produce and import some of the finest extra virgin olive oil. I’m pleased to welcome Giorgios Karayannis and Edward Billys to the dinner series as the experts in guiding the olive oil tasting experience.”
The dinner event will start at 6:30 pm with a reception of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The multicourse dinner, which will feature wine pairings by Beverage Director John Dalesandro, will immediately follow. Tickets are $79 per person and include wine pairings; all seats must be reserved by calling Storefront Company at 773-661-2609. Highlights from the menu will include:
Fondue/ sea urchin – blood orange – wasabi greens
Jam/ octopus – char – meyer lemon
Bread Salad/ bronzino – tomato – mint
“The Medium”/ lamb – spruce – maitake – oats
Sorbet/ honey – rye – tea
