Where to Celebrate Fat Tuesday, San Francisco Style

No need to make a last-minute trip to the Big Easy for Fat Tuesday.  Mardi Gras’ last day of debauchery will be alive and well right here in San Francisco. Haute Living presents a few festive Fat Tuesday celebrations that will surely make you feel like you’re in the middle of the Mardi Gras action, New-Orleans style.

Place: Boxing Room

What:  Festive Fat Tuesday with a crawfish boil, live music, and king cake.

Time:  From 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m during dinner.

Boxing Room invites everyone to join the crew for a festive Fat Tuesday with a crawfish boil, live music, and king cake. In addition to the regular dinner menu, guests can enjoy one pound of Boiled Crawfish with all the fixin’s, including boiled corn, potatoes, mushrooms, sausage, and a special dipping sauce for $15. Abita Brewing Co.’s special release Mardi Gras Bock will be available on tap. Additionally, The Charles Unger Experience will play New Orleans jazz live from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. To kick off the celebration, Pastry Chef Bill Corbett will offer King Cake for dessert through February 12.

Fillmore Street comes alive with a neighborhood-wide Mardi Gras party during the annual Fat Tuesday in the Fillmore on February 12, 2013.

The celebration also will commence with afree kick-off blues concert from 5-7 pm in the Fillmore Plaza featuring the legendary Bobbie “Spider” Webb & the Smooth Blues Band and will be followed by a festive New Orleans processional down the Fillmore Corridor led by Henry Clement & the Gumbo Band with street artists and performers.

What: Fat Tuesday Masquerade Dinner Celebration + Three-Year Anniversary.  Note that costumes and/or masks are mandatory in order to join this special masquerade dinner party

St. Helena’s Long Meadow Ranch Winery & Farmstead is the place to be on Fat Tuesday, when the Hall family and Executive Chef Stephen Barber throw a rollicking Mardi Gras masquerade dinner to celebrate the three-year anniversary of the local gathering place and Napa Valley destination. Barber will prepare a New Orleans-inspired à la carte dinner menu, served with great wine, excellent cocktails, live New Orleans music, party favors and more.
