Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence won the hearts of Academy members with her performance in Silver Linings Playbook, and she stole the show when she waltzed down the red carpet at the 85th annual Academy Awards last night in a strapless pale pink-and-white Dior bustier ball gown. Haute Living takes a closer look at the attendees’ fashion statements.
As Seth MacFarlane prepared to host the 2013 Oscars, attendees and nominees were focusing on flaunting their flawless fashion choices as they strolled down the red carpet on their way to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
According to The Los Angeles Times and NJ.com, Jennifer Lawrence stunned the crowd as she walked by in a Dior gown; Anne Hathaway wore a Prada dress and Tiffany & Co. jewels; Naomi Watts wore a gunmetal sequined Armani Prive dress with 20-carat platinum and diamond drop earrings and a platinum and diamond bracelet ($1.5 million total); Charlize Theron wore a sculptural white silk Christian Dior peplum gown paired with more than 100 carats of Harry Winston jewels; Jennifer Garner wore a magenta Gucci dress with a Neil Lane darkened platinum and diamond necklace, earrings and bracelet totaling 200 carats and $2.5 million; Jessica Chastain coordinated her bronze Armani gown with vintage Harry Winston; Samantha Barks wore a low-cut Valentino gown matched with a House of Waris for Forevermark pendant in yellow gold with an oval Forevermark diamond; Helen Hunt chose a custom navy blue H&M gown; Amy Adams had a pale blue Oscar de la Renta princess gown; Halle Berry wore a black-and-silver striped, long-sleeve Versace creation, and Nicole Kidman showed up in a black-and-gold beaded L’Wren Scott gown.
Accented jewelry pieces were also big on this year’s red carpet, with stars donning jewels from Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co and more.
According to a press release, numerous nominees, presenters and past award winners wore Harry Winston jewels, including nominee Jessica Chastain, who wore a vintage 1967 diamond and gold bracelet totaling 24 carats and vintage 1969 diamond earrings totaling 10 carats; Charlize Theron, who wore a vintage 1959 lattice bracelet totaling 58.07 carats, a vintage 1959 cluster bracelet totaling 57.30 carats, diamond ear studs totaling 5 carats each and a $1.6 million marquise ring all set in platinum totaling $4.5 million; Sandra Bullock, who wore a diamond cluster broach, a diamond ring, and round diamond ear studs all set in platinum totaling $1 million; Adele, who wore $1 million diamond cluster earrings and a diamond ring all set in platinum; Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, who wore a diamond Qipao necklace, diamond bracelet, diamond earrings all set in platinum and cufflinks; Georgina Chapman, who wore sunflower drop earrings, diamond Qipao bracelet all set in platinum; and Olivia Munn, who wore yellow diamond floral earrings and a diamond sunflower bracelet.
Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway chose to pair her gown with Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Collection diamonds, including Tiffany Lucida Diamond Stud Earrings set in platinum ($39,300), the Tiffany Cushion-cut, Marquise and Round Diamond Fringe Bracelet set in platinum ($200,000), the Tiffany Paisley Diamond Bracelet set in platinum ($115,000) and the Tiffany Diamond Corsage Necklace set in platinum ($485,000) which she wore down her back.
Christian Louboutin was also a popular choice among Academy Award attendees, including Jessica Chastain who wore a pair of Volpi in pearl satin shoes, Reese Witherspoon who wore a pair of Very Prive in black satin, Kerry Washington who wore a pair of Decollette 544 in red watersnake, Adele who wore a pair of Bibi in black strass, Naomi Harris who wore a pair of Au Palace in gold, and Jenna Dewan who was spotted with a Aida Clutch in nude satin.
