Bobby Flay wins Burger Bash at South Beach Wine and Food Festival
The Burger Bash is one of SOBEWFF hottest tickets. Over 3,500 people queue up to meet their favorite celebrity chefs and taste their delicious burger creations from 38 restaurants, local and nationwide. Last night, Iron Chef Bobby Flay took home the People’s Choice Award. He made a “crunchified” beef burner with queso sauce, green chile pickle relish and potato chips. Jeff “The Sandwich King” Mauro took home the Judge’s Choice Award. He made a short rib and ground sirloin griddle burger, white American cheese, caramelized onions, nestled between two slices of buttered rye bread with 18,000 island dressing.
The judging table was an A-List group and included restauranteur Jeffrey Chodorow, Andrew Zimmern, Anne Burrell, Spike Mendelsohn and Geoffrey Zakarian. This was definitely the place to be last night.
