West LA’s new Equinox Health Club has reopened after a year of high-end renovations and is proving to be one of the most unique luxury health and fitness centers around with features that include an Oliver Café/Lounge, MichaelJohn Salon, indoor pool, indoor basketball court, private executive locker room, laundry service, kids’ club and more.
Equinox’s famed philosophy of “health and fitness meeting the luxury service of a resort-like escape” has come to life at the luxury fitness company’s new global flagship in West LA. According to the club’s website, the expansive 100,000-square-foot space is a place where “members gather to socialize, dine, network, exercise and relax.” A first of its kind, Equinox Sports Club in West LA “offers an incomparable mix of distinctive fitness programming and hospitality.”
According to LA Racked, the new Equinox, formerly known as Sports Club/LA, underwent a yearlong renovation and is now “one of the most expensive clubs to be a member of in Los Angeles, rivaling West Hollywood’s Soho House.” Access to the club is $210 per month (+$175 one-time initiation fee).
Features (and add-ons) include state-of-the-art equipment, professional trainers, Kiehl’s products in the locker rooms, a private executive locker room, a sundeck with cabanas, a basketball court, full-service valet and car washing, Michaeljohn salon services, and a spa with a 24-carat gold facial and a caviar indulgence signature facial.
The sports club also offers group fitness programming and innovative classes including yoga, studio cycling, Pilates, marital arts, pool programs and exclusive programs like VIPR, Shockwave, Tabata, Barre Burn, Whipped and a new Equinox training camp. All trainers are graduates from the “proprietary Equinox Fitness Training Institute and they are hand selected [for this club] based on their proven record of inspiring and delivering outstanding results.”
For the club’s most exclusive members, there is an Executive Membership, which provides you with your own private locker, 24-hour laundry service, complimentary valet and access to all 55 Equinox Health Club locations nationally.
