Thompson Hotels Open First UK Property

Thompson Hotels, the folks behind some of NYC’s most-beloved boutique hotels — 60 Thompson, Thompson LES, Gild Hall, Smyth Tribeca — has opened its doors across the pond and has become one of London’s most fashionable hangouts. Belgraves is located in the uber-posh neighborhood of Belgravia, but attracts those who like to mix and mingle from near and far.

The design-driven hotel is known for its refined style and for the destination restaurants usually located within the hotels. The new Belgravia property however, is located next door to Hix Belgravia, an 80-seater restaurant with a creative menu inspired by chef and owner Mark Hix’s world travels. Mark’s Bar, which is located on the mezzanine level of the hotel, is the latest in a collection of trendy Hix’s bars that are known for being the place to see and be seen. There is also a stylish cigar garden sure to be a hit in the warmer months.

The lobby of the hotel is defined by a large fireplace, an eclectic library, cozy nooks and an impressive art collection. And the thoughtfully designed rooms, a Thompson Hotel trademark, offers guests the usual creature comforts along with Rococo chocolates and Coco De Mer intimacy boxes. Belgraves is just what the London hotel scene has been missing.
