News | January 7, 2013

The score was 13-12 with team Coca-Cola winning the Pennell Cup for a second year in a row. Team members Gillian Johnston, Sugar Erskine, Julio Arellano, Tommy Collingwood defeated the Villa Del Lago team in the cup match that served as the International Polo Club Palm Beach’s opening Sunday game. After an inaugural throw by polo fan Bo Derek, who was on hand to celebrate the polo club’s 10th season, the Pennell Cup finals were on their way. Julio Arellano, who is one of the sport’s hottest players right now, is the one who scored the winning overtime goal.  Even though Polito Pieres was on the Villa Del Lago, who lost the close match, he was considered the day’s Most Valuable Player with 8 goals that made him the leading scorer.
