New $10,000 Cell Phone Combines Form and Function

News | January 15, 2013

Danish luxury mobile phone manufacturer Aesir Copenhagen is gearing up to release a new luxury cell phone, innovative in both its craftsmanship and design. Scandinavian design firm KiBiSi, whose work has been featured in New York’s MoMA and Paris’ Centre National d’Arts Plastique, collaborated with Aesir to create the device.

Crafted from stainless steel, sapphire-crystal and gold, the phone looks profoundly sleeker than your typical iPhone and eliminates the dreaded cheek-to-screen issue through a cradled headset. “It’s good design, it’s long-lasting, it will continue to be of joy to the user over a long period of time,” Aesir founder, Thomas Moller Jensen, told Fast Company. “You won’t throw it away.”
