Mel Brooks Is Ready To Turn ‘Blazing Saddles’ Into Broadway Musicial Thanks To Quentin Tarantino
Mel Brooks has been wanting to turn Blazing Saddles into a musical for nearly five years and it seems the time has finally come. And the motivating force is none other than writer-director-producer-actor Quentin Tarantino. “A lot of it is musical already,” Brooks revealed during a PBS panel at the Television Critics Association. “It has a rather fanciful and fantastic tone to it. And now that Django Unchained has literally used the N word, I think I’m in the clear. I don’t look so bad. He really used that word a lot.”
