Sir Elton John will be making a special appearance for a performance at Hyperion Theater to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Yamaha, the company that has provided the singer with his pianos for the past 20 years.

Sir Elton John will be performing with a 70-piece orchestra in the 2,000-seat Hyperion Theater, however, thanks to innovative technological advances in Yamaha pianos, the performance will be also played simultaneously at other venues around the world (which will be revealed later). According to the OC Register, while playing on a Yamaha Disklavier, John’s key strokes and pedal functions will be replicated at “various remote locations via Yamaha’s DisklavierTV and RemoteLive technology, while the orchestra will be seen and hear via monitors.”

In a statement released on Tuesday, John said, “I’m constantly astonished by the inventive skills and versatility of the Yamaha team… [Yamaha] perfected the RemoteLive technology, which means that effectively, I can perform the concert live in Anaheim on January 25, live across the Internet and also live in venues worldwide – all at the same time!”
