British Electro-Pop Star Ellie Goulding To Play The Fillmore Tonight

News | January 16, 2013

Tonight, British pop vocalist, Ellie Goulding, will perform at The Fillmore in Miami Beach in order to kick-off her 2013 U.S. tour. Her new album Halcyon is creating a huge buzz for Goulding fans, which are many and distinct due to her playing around with multiples genres.  Goulding was put on the map when her first album, Lights, was released in the UK in 2010, where it sold over 85,000 copies.  It was then released in the U.S. in March 2011, where it reached number one the Billboard Pop Songs Chart, and number two on the Billboard Hot 100.  Her single, Lights, spent over a year on the Billboard Hot 100, and went triple platinum.

So how does Goulding top the success of Lights?  Her sophomore album, Halcyon, includes her usual mix of indie pop and electronica and features plenty of new hits, including her cover song, Anything Could Happen.  It also features an impressive track, I Need Your Love, which was collaboration with mix-master, Calvin Harris. Concert goers who haven’t heard the new album may be a bit surprised as Halycon is less electronic and far more emotional than her previous album as the songs were inspired by a bad breakup.
