The Joffrey Ballet Presents The Nutcracker

News | December 7, 2012

Now that the holidays are upon us, it’s time to start thinking about tradition. The one thing that’s a constant tradition is the “Nutracker” ballet. This fanciful holiday production is done everywhere, but that doesn’t mean you should see it just anywhere. The Joffrey Ballet will be putting on its expertly and exquisitely executed production of the “Nutcracker” at the Auditorium Theatre (50 East Congress).

Starting today (Dec. 27) and going until December 27th you can treat yourself to an end of the year, holiday must-see. When I say expertly executed, I say it with no exaggeration. The ballet is choreographed by company founders Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino. It’s set to the easily recognizable, incomparable Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky score, which will be performed live by the Chicago Philharmonic. The tickets, which are between $31-$132, are available at the Joffrey Ballet Box Office (10 E. Randolph). If you can’t make it to the box office, you can call 800-982-2787 or go online at Ticketmaster.com for tickets.
