WGN Radio host John Williams recently sold his LaGrange Park home he shared with his wife and children. The host is leaving Chicago for Minneapolis now that his contract is ending with WGN. The Williams family has been living in the brick Tudor home for 11 years. It was actually the second house they lived in on that same block, they upgraded from a smaller house when they needed more room.
The deal went down last Thursday and the sale price ($590,000) was actually $100 higher than the list price ($589,900). After several offers came in, Williams felt he could have gotten more for the house but settled on the number above and made the sale quick, clean and simple. It should be noted that they originally paid $505,000 for the house so he walked away a winner regardless.
As for the details of the house, it has 5 total bedrooms and 5 baths. The plus for Williams he says is the big basement with a sitting room, kitchen and even room enough for a pool table. A few blocks from a bike trail leading to the Brookfield Zoo and a Metra station close by the location is great. Sounds like a nice home and I hope the new tenants enjoy it as much as the Williams family has. The listing agent was Kerri Mahon. To contact Kerri, call 708-975-2185 or email k.mahon@att.net.
