New Location of Comme des Garçons’ NYC Store Revealed

After months of waiting, the super secret location of Comme des Garçons’ Dover Street Market New York has finally been revealed! Founder and designer Rei Kawakubo is setting up shop at 160 Lexington Avenue near 30th Street. The new digs: A seven-story, 20,000 square-foot superstructure built in the early 1900s thanks to funding from John D. Rockefeller.

Kawakubo will feature a combination of Comme des Garçons men’s and women’s products alongside a slew of other international brands. This location marks the third iteration of Kawakubo’s Dover Street Market stores. The first DSM boutique opened in London in 2004, and the second arrived in Tokyo’s Ginza district last March. In only a matter of months, the Tokyo loction has already produced 10 artist collaborations.

DSM New York is slated to open in December 2013.
