Luxurious and Sassy: La Perla Spring/Summer 2013 Collection

La Perla, synonymous with female beauty, showcased their latest beachwear and lingerie collections at their Dubai Mall store. La Perla’s sassy partnership with Jean-Paul Gautier has produced themes that interweave the La Perla style and Gautier codes quite remarkably.

For the ‘Marin’ and ‘Rubans’ themed collection, well-known Gautier sailor stripes and La Perla’s luxurious silks and lace exude sumptuous and delicate lines. When at the beach, La Perla has taken on Gautier’s Cage Bustier, while for special occasions, the labels has created dresses with the cage marking the waist and hips. But the bikini continuous to reveal through elegant lines the contours of the entire body.

Gautier aside, La Perla has a fascinating collection of Sicilian influenced swimwear. The largest Island in the Mediterranean Sea boasts magnificent multi-coloured tiles and tapestries, baroque buildings and bright stuccowork, which have all been worked into garments, bikinis and swimming costumes, with a little help from Swarovski!

The Sicilian ‘800 style lingerie collection is inspired by Gattopardo’s nineteenth-century Sicily. Each garment evokes the splendor of baroque palaces and great society balls as well as the boudoirs where corsets were one of the most important style accessories. Bows, lace inserts, hooks, strings, pleats and precious embroideries feature in this ensemble.
