Haute Shoes to Ring in the New Year!

This was the year of the shoe, with many luxury stores expanding their shoe departments and prices skyrocketing to an average of $1,000.  So here we decided to pick a few of our favorite to ring in the new year.  Yes ofcourse, Louboutin is included in the list, but we have a couture dream piece as well.

At the very top of the must haves are these couture ‘Birds of Paradise” pumps from Mai Lamore.  The platform pump with peep-toe opening  has a lilac satin platform, is covered in small peacock feathers with a wing detail at the back, and hand-stitched silver leather detail on the inside of the heel.  Available at Just One Eye for a sparkling $20,880.

There’s something about limited edition items that we’re just such a sucker for.  Bergdorf Goodman and Christian Louboutin collaborated for BG’s 111th year anniversary and these Extreme Highness platform pumps are just showstoppers for $3,995.  Warning:  mixing these and lots of Ace of Spades may induce vertigo.

As New Year’s Eve has become the time for sequin and sparkle over-indulgence, we need to indulge in these $2,495 Jimmy Choo anything-but Tame Crystal pumps where there’s crystals not just on the shoe but behind the vamp as well so you can make for a dazzling exit as well as entrance.   We strongly suggest hitting up the Jimmy Choo store in Union square to get them in time for any of the parties we listed.

Tom Ford can do no wrong with his $3,890 Swarovski crystal embellished pump.  Ever thoughtful, his heel is encased in metal, so no worries about a heel snagged on the tarmac when catching the last minute flight to an impromptu debaucherous New Year’s in Vegas.

Finally, for those going casual to a friend’s intimate party, we have to suggest these jeweled $650 Miu Miu loafers.  Smoking slippers were a must have this season and with satin and jewels, you’ll be the understated Silicon Valley style star in your jeans and these.
