Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has realized a personalized Goop Guide to Los Angeles, based off the success of her popular weekly lifestyle journal goop.com. The Goop City Guides App presents in-depth travel guides to cities around the world, including London, New York and Los Angeles.
With residences in London, New York and Los Angeles, Paltrow’s love of finding and sharing hot spots in her favorite cities led her to create Goop city guides, available now through the Goop app, which is available via iTunes for $3.99.
According to LA Racked, Paltrow recently added Los Angeles to the guides, which includes her personal recommendations such as “American Rag, Beckley, Dream Collective, Feal Mor, Jill Roberts, Lake, Maxfield, Milk, Noodle Stories, Opening Ceremony, Resurrection, Ron Herman, Satine, TenOverSix, Tavin, THVM and Weltenbuerger.” She also recommends beauty spots such as celebrity hair stylist Chris McMillan, colorist Tracey Cunningham at Meche, and skin care clinic The Face Place. For tattoos, Paltrow suggests Black Banditz in West Hollywood and for shoe repair she mentions Arturo’s Shoe Fixx.
The iTunes store notes that while the app currently comes pre-loaded with guides to new York, London and Los Angeles, future cities will “also be available to purchase via in-app purchase so you can continue to build your collection.” Described as a great resources for “firt-time visitors to each city and city dwellers alike”, the Goop app has all of the “new and under-the-radar places and classic favorites”.
“We at goop proudly bring you our first app, goop City Guides, which includes guides to NYC, London and Los Angeles. We’ve gathered our very favorite spots – from old-school classics to the best of what’s new in food, shopping, decorating and more – to give you a collection of truly unique and in-depth city guides. We hope everyone will come to use it as an indispensable resource,” Paltrow said.
If you already own the Goop City Guides app, activating the new Los Angeles city guide is easy. All you have to do is run the latest update on your device and Los Angeles will appear on your bookshelf. 3G or WiFi connections are needed to do so.
