Cozy On Up to An Ice Bar
Why settle for an ice luge when you can have entire ice bar? Escobar Aspen debuts its 8-foot by 2-foot outdoor drinking post this weekend, making it the apres-ski spot on the Hyman Avenue mall.
From 2 to 7 p.m., bartenders will pour drinks that complement the snow: vodka, champagne and a handful of mixed drinks. Escobar has an outdoor patio in the same place during the summer, but this is its first foray into al fresco cocktails in the winter.
Co-owner Ryan Chadwick is from Nantucket, and also owns New York City’s Grey Lady. Escobar is a nightclub which regularly hosts DJs and a number of special events. He plans to keep the ice bar up through February, and no, he’s not worried about it melting in-between now and then.
