Celebrities Are Safe on the Slopes of Aspen

As celebrities flock to Aspen for the holidays, the Aspen Skiing Co. is making sure they’re safe from the paparazzi while skiing. The company hired a security guard to prevent the photographers from coming into gondola plaza–which is private property owned by SkiCo–to take pictures of the Hollywood elite on snow, the Aspen Daily News reported.

This is the first time the company has hired a professional to keep the paparazzi under control. Year-round, Aspen is generally a safe place for celebrities to vacation without being followed, but around the holidays that changes because so many actors, actresses and musicians head to Colorado. Spotted around town trying to ward off the flashbulbs in the past week have been Paris Hilton and boyfriend River Viiperi, Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, and Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.
