12 Days of Aspen Wraps up 2013

The snow globe that is Aspen gets even more picturesque over the holidays when seasonal festivities become as popular as the skiing itself. To usher in the new year, the town celebrates the 12 Days of Aspen, during which restaurants, hotels, and cultural organizations all join together for a slew of events from Dec. 20 through 31. Here are some don’t-miss highlights: 

Dec. 21-23: The Spirit of Aspen Spectacular theater production at the Wheeler Opera House. 7 p.m.

Dec. 23: Santa’s live reindeer at the clocktower in Wagner Park, 12:30-4:30 p.m.

Dec. 24: Santa reads “Twas the Night Before Christmas” at the St. Regis, 3-5 p.m.

Dec. 25: Traditional Christmas Day Buffet, $125/person or $50/kids under 10 at the Hotel Jerome, 4-5:30 and 6:30-8 p.m.

Dec. 28: Aspen Art Museum Freestyle, St. Regis Aspen

Dec. 30: Ajax Cup hosted by Antonio Banderas to benefit AVSC, Aspen Mountain

Dec. 31: Fireworks over Aspen Mountain, 8 p.m. and midnight
