VH1 Introduces ‘You Oughta Know’ Artist Metric at SCOPE Miami Official Opening

VH1’s You Oughta Know franchise is breaking into the contemporary arts scene at SCOPE Miami 2012 next month by introducing artist Metric at the VH1 Outdoor Lounge. VH1 and SCOPE Miami have partnered to utilize the art show as a platform for fusing art and music.

VH1 will showcase emerging visual artists and musicians during SCOPE Miami and highlight Metric, who is scheduled to perform live during the SCOPE Miami Official Opening Party on December 6. You Oughta Know is credited with amplifying the careers of music sensations such as John Mayor, Adele, Colbie Caillat, Foster The People, The Fray, Bruno Mars and more.

In addition to the musical component of the evening, a press release notes that artwork by the SCOPE Artists on the Rise will be featured, including a group of three emerging visual artists, Brent Birnbaum, Hugh Hayden and Patrick Martinez, who were handpicked by SCOPE and VH1.

The FIAT brand will also be at the VH1 Outdoor Lounge to offer guests “an interactive experience designed to blend art and music with pop-culture that speaks to the North American reintroduction of the iconic FIAT 500”.

Phil Delbourgo, Senior Vice President of Branding and Design for VH1, said, “SCOPE has established a reputation for influencing and forecasting new trends in visual art, which makes them an ideal partner for the VH1 You Oughta Know platform. Our team helps catapult You Oughta Know artists into the pop culture space through our extensive networks; we view this partnership with SCOPE in Miami as an opportunity to engage another key audience for performers such as Metric by merging music and art.”

The VH1 Outdoor Lounge will be open to SCOPE visitors from December 4-9 and it will be located at the SCOPE Miami pavilion at N.E. 36th Street and Midtown Boulevard.
