The Design Center of the Americas Hosts Industry Icons

As part of their Fall Marketing Programming, the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) is hosting a slew of industry icons on November 15.

Featuring over 20 showroom programs, open house events and receptions, the Fall Marketing Programming will also include an open breakfast buffet with mimosas at 9 a.m.

The schedule includes:

9 a.m.: “So Many Topics, So Little Time…” Round robin 15-minute presentations from Fabricut/Stroheim (passementerie), Hartmann & Forbes (natural hand-woven window coverings), Studio E (handcrafted wall coverings), Jab (fabrics and drapery hardware) and Elitis (fabrics and wall coverings). Each presentation that guests attend will increase their chances to win the DCOTA iPad giveaway.

10 a.m.: “The Modern Woman: Style & Taste in Early 20th Century France Course” A lecture exploring the changing nature of women’s role in art and society in France. The lecture examines the first three decades of the 20th century and the woman’s influence on modern art.

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: KEYNOTE on The Influence of Fashion on Wall Covering Design with panelists Celerie Kemble and Susan North; moderated by Marisa Marcantonio, Founder of StyleBeat.com.

12 p.m.: Keynote Reception

1 p.m.: Decorative Crafts – First Impressions with guest speaker Michelle Luongo, a Certified Feng Shui consultant and founder of Balanced Living, Inc. She will discuss first impressions and the character of your home as well as present beneficial introductions to the home. 

2 p.m. – 3 p.m.: KEYNOTE on A Visual Life: Scrapbooks, Collages and Inspirations presented by Charlotte Moss with an introduction by Marisa Marcantonio.

3 p.m. Keynote Reception

3:30 p.m.: Lee Industries at Brown Jordan will present Deborah Grant in the showroom to share from her 20 years of experience in ways to customize upholstery with Lee.

4 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Cocktails reception while previewing an exciting new collection from Jane Churchill in the Cowtan & Trout Showroom. Followed by Ascending Design presented by Jaime Perczek Design.

The Design Center of the Americas is located at 1855 Griffin Road in Dania Beach, FL.
