Sixth Annual MOCA Mystery Dates

Celebrating its sixth year, MOCA Mystery Dates, is one of my favorite events of the year. Hosted by the Shakers, MOCA’s membership group for patrons between the ages of 21 and 45, the evening kicked off this year with a glamorous cocktail party at the MOCA, with Bombay Sapphire cocktails, and canapés from Lyon and Lyon.  There was live music and lots of familiar faces. Everyone got their “Mystery” Location of the dinner that they were attending, There were hundreds of people in attendance hosts included Lizzie Dascal, Michael Margulies, Joe Berg, Gloria and Sergio Leyva, Kathryn and Dan Mikesell, Billy Weisman, Barbara Herzberg, Dawn Adels Fine and George Sanchez Calderon.  I was lucky enough to dine at Board Member and close friend Barabara Herzberg’s home on Fisher Island.  The evening was magical, the art and food were divine.  Highlights of Barbara’s collection include works from Richard Prince, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emmin and Andy Warhol. The food was amazing as well including stone crabs, porcini rubbed tenderloin and the best key lime pie I’ve ever had, topped with a six inch fluffy meringue. Every detail was thought out and perfectly executed.  Guests at Barbara’s dinner included Janice and Alan Lipton, Ray Ellen and Alan Yarkin, Glenna Norton, Bonnie Clearwater, Alex Cohen and David Herzberg .
