LACOSTE Announces Relief Efforts and Toy Drive in Wake of Hurricane Sandy

In light of Hurricane Sandy’s recent devastation of many parts of the Northeast, LACOSTE has announced multiple ways they will be supporting relief efforts for immediate and future needs related to the destruction.

According to a press release, LACOSTE will donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross and $100,000 in product to Fashion Delivers, a charitable organization that gives manufacturers and retailers a way to use their merchandise to give back. In addition, as a longtime supporter of the City Parks Foundation of New York, LACOSTE is committing a monetary donation and dedicated resources, such as volunteers, to aid in rebuilding parks that were damaged throughout New York’s five boroughs.

On November 9, LACOSTE will also kick off a three-week toy drive with Toys for Tots in an effort to get gifts to children in the tri-state area who were affected by Sandy.

President and CEO of LACOSTE USA, Steve Birkhold, said, “In the wake of this terrible storm, as families are focused on rebuilding their homes and livelihoods, there’s no doubt many children will be left toy-less come December. We hope that our efforts will bring some unexpected holiday cheer to those suffering most.”

In addition to organizing the drive along with Toys for Tots, LACOSTE will also match each toy dropped off at participating LACOSTE boutiques in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, as well as extend a 20% discount to those who donate.

Donations for the toy drive will be accepted through November 25 and Toys for Tots will then distribute the donations to the children.

The toy drive will begin with a cocktail event on November 8 at the Gansevoort Park Avenue with DJ Cassidy and DJ Brendan Fallis. All guests are asked to bring new and unwrapped toys for donation.

The Gansevoort Park Avenue is located at 420 Park Avenue South, New York, NY 10016.
