International Contemporary Jewelry Fair to Debut During Art Basel
Miami is set to welcome the debut of the highly-anticipated International Contemporary Jewelry Fair. The fair will take place during Art Basel, one of the most exciting weeks on Miami’s calendar, when the city welcomes international collectors, contemporary galleries, art dealers and the global glitterati. In a fitting match to the luxury baubles that will be on display, the fair will be held on the SeaFair megayacht, SeaFair between December 4-9.
The fair is a new concept which will bring together producers, sellers and buyers of everything from bespoke artisanal pieces to the industry’s leading brands. The fair’s place during Art Basel is fitting, as jewelry becomes an increasingly important extension of arts world. With exhibitors from countries around the world, connoisseurs have already identified early standouts from the pieces which will be displayed. Leading the pack is Bagues Masriera; originating from Barcelona, the company will present its Masriera Art Jewelry, an art deco-style collection designed by Masriera (a contemporary of Antoni Gaudi). Another highlight will be coming to the fair from the South Seas of Australia; Autore’s exotic pearl creations regularly worn by Hollywood starlets like Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett and Halle Berry.
As the only Art Basel fair venue open at night, the International Contemporary Jewelry Fair’s location on the SeaFair, moored in the heart of Downtown Miami at Chopin Plaza, is certain to become a nightly hotspot. The fair kicks off on December 4th with a preview party hosted by diplomatic representatives of Italy, Brazil, Spain, Australia, Philippines and Lebanon.
