Haute Event: A-List Angelenos Travel to Mexico For the First Ever Baja International Film Festival

A slew of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters headed to Los Cabos, Mexico over the weekend for the Baja International Film Festival.

Edward Norton, Melissa Leo, Diego Luna, Virginia Madsen, Matt Dillon, Nicolas Echevarria and Michael Apted were honored with awards at the Mexican festival, which ran from November 14-17.

The festival showcased 80 films from 18 countries, including 5 international feature films, 5 Mexican feature films, 5 international documentaries, 5 Mexican documentaries, 30 international shorts, 13 Mexican shorts, 4 environmental films, as well as special presentation screenings of 7 international feature films and 6 Mexican feature films.

Academy Award nominee Norton was honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Acting trophy, while Oscar winner Leo accepted the Excellence in Acting award.

The honors were handed out during the festival’s closing night gala presented by the Mexico Tourism Board on Saturday at the Cabo Convention Center.
