Internationally acclaimed design house Alexander McQueen is returning to its British roots and opening a flagship menswear store on Savile Row in London.
Once open, NeonTommy reports that the new flagship store will be the first to carry the entire menswear collection, from ready-to-wear suiting to accessories, in addition to an in-house bespoke tailoring service. The label’s creative director, Sarah Burton, recently told The Times, “It feels special to be back on Savile Row – almost like a homecoming in a way.”
The store is located near the birthplace of Alexander McQueen’s start of his design career. He started as an apprentice tailor at Anderson & Sheppard on Savile Row, which ultimately lead to what Burton refers to as “the backbone of the label”: exceptional tailoring.
The store includes parquet flooring, plaster panels and signature McQueen motifs. There is also a space in the back of the store designed as a gallery space curated by gallerist Sadie Coles and glass cabinets that showcase leather goods and oxford shirts.
According to GQ, the store will launch next year.
The new Alexander McQueen store will be located at 9 Savile Row, London, W1
