After winning the 2012 NBA Championship, the Miami Heat will be honored by Art of Basketball during the upcoming Art Basel Miami Beach with a special exhibit and private VIP party.

In collaboration with the NBA, Art of Basketball will celebrate the Heat’s championship with a collection of original art pieces for the “Art of Basketball: Heat Wave” exhibition. Featuring a select group of renowned graffiti and street artists from around the world, the exhibit will include specially created portraits of Heat players including LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Last year during Art Basel, Chris Bosh recently told NBA TV, “The creativity is something that I’m very into and I love. To have this vision in your head and go for your imagination out of on a canvas to what people can see what’s in your brain, I’m really moved by that.”

Featured artists include URNY, The Dude Company, Mr. Brainwash, Ewok One 5MH, Jack Aguire, David Cooper, Sero, ECB, Junk, and Billi Kids, who is the curator of Art of Basketbal, among others.

Kid said, “The Miami Heat has been very good to Art of Basketball. From allowing us to paint an official NBA backboard at the American Airlines Arena during a game to giving us an opportunity to work with its elite players at different events, it was time for us to return the love.”

The “Art of Basketball: Heat Wave” will run from December 5 through 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. near the American Airlines Arena. The artwork displayed will be available for purchase.

According to the press release, in addition to the exhibit, Wade and Bosh will host a private VIP party on December 7 at the same location as the exhibit (2048 NW Miami Court) featuring music from the Heat’s DJ Irie and food from Shake Shack. Sponsored by Premier Beverage and Public Works Department, the party will benefit Wade’s foundation “Wade’s World” and Bosh’s foundation “Team Tomorrow Inc.”
