Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta will open a 2,700-square-foot home goods store in Los Angeles’ Beverly Grove neighborhood on Melrose Place.

Renowned for their leather handbags, Bottega Veneta has approximately 180 locations around the world, including some, like the one coming to Melrose, that specialize in furniture or leather goods. However, according to the Los Angeles Times, the new store on Melrose will be the first to carry a combination of “furniture, other home goods and possibly a sprinkling of apparel and accessories.”

Bottega Veneta’s creative director Tomas Maier told WWD, “The concept is for a large city that can support more than one store, but why does it need to be the same store, multiplied? If I want to go to a luxury leather-goods store, then I’ll drive to Rodeo, but if I want a different experience, I can go to Melrose.”

Melrose Place has seen numerous new high-end boutiques opening in the recent past, including Isabel, Marant, L’Agence and Equipment. Once the Bottega Veneta store opens, it will be the third location for the brand in Southern California, according to WWD, including shops on Rodeo Drive and South Coast Plaza.

“There will be a very strong representation of home but that doesn’t mean that Melrose won’t have a very edited group of bags that work with the whole idea, or that coat or typical Bottega dress as well,” Maier told WWD.

Bottega Veneta is owned by French luxury conglomerate PPR, which also owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.

The new Bottega Veneta home goods sore will be located at 8455 Melrose Place.
