David Duchovny Seeks $6.25 Million Pad in CPW Building That Rejected Mariah Carey

Actor and native New Yorker David Duchovny (Californication, The X-Files) is in contract for a $6.25 million apartment at 320 Central Park West co-op The Ardsley. The 3-bedroom, 3-bath 19th-floor unit claims a private elevator, a fireplace and a snug terrace with grand views of Central Park and the reservoir. The Ardsley, located in the low-90s, is no stranger to celebrity tenants: Barbara Streisand occupied the penthouse. But the co-op board doesn’t easily fall for boldfaced names. In 1999 it rejected Mariah Carey, then pre-breakdown and at the height of her pop career, who was angling to buy Streisand’s airy perch.
