The Beverly Hills Hotel is preparing to for a centennial celebration that will include the opening of a time capsule sealed in 1993 and the creation of a “treasure chest” to be unearthed in 2037.

The luxurious Beverly Hills Hotel will be celebrating it’s 100th birthday on September 12, and to mark the occasion, the City proclaimed the day “Beverly Hills Hotel Day.” Adoringly referred to as “The Pink Palace” because of its iconic pale pink exterior, the hotel has planned a program of exciting activities and special promotions for its birthday.

Just two years before the City of Beverly Hills was officially incorporated, the Beverly Hills Hotel opened its doors in 1912 and quickly gained notoriety by hosting the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Howard Hughes, John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Faye Dunaway and numerous others of Hollywood’s power elite and celebrities.

The five-star property will be celebrating its 100-year birthday in style with a life-size photo gallery exhibit in the lobby capturing memorable moments during the past 100 years, the opening of a time capsule that was place at the property’s front red-carpet entrance in 1993 and the launch of the book “The Beverly Hills Hotel Bungalows – The First 100 Years” by Robert S. Anderson, the great grandson of the hotel’s original owner, Margaret Anderson.

The hotel will also be offering special deals in honor of it’s birthday for the remainder of the year. Included in these packages is the “These Walls Area Talking” cocktail menu in The Polo Lounge and Bar Nineteen12 featuring drinks inspired by past celebrity guests. Also, every week, diners at one table at each of the hotel’s dining venues will enjoy “Pop-Up 1912 Pricing” where their check will be converted to 1912 pricing. In addition, select spa services at La Prairie Spa will be priced at $100, including The Pink Palace Manicure and Pedicure, Diamond Anniversary Facial and the Caviar Express Massage.

“The Centennial Celebration” specialty package, which starts at $660, provides luxurious accommodations for two nights, two complimentary cocktails, a keepsake 100-Year candle and a box of commemorative chocolate truffles plus daily American breakfast for two.

“The Little Legends Family Package”, starting at $610 for two nights, is designed for the hotel’s younger guests and features a kids’ red carpet arrival with photo shoot and an autograph seeker, a VVOP welcome card, a choice of milk shake or ice cream sundae at The Fountain Coffee Shop, a personalized chocolate star “Walk of Fame” amenity, and an “I’m a Little Legend: 100-year-tee-shirt.
