Photos: Polica Rocks Out the Boulevard Pool

Minneapolis-based rockers Poliça wowed the audience at BLVD Social Club — Thursdays Live at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas with a unique blend of electronic and R&B music, playing songs like “Raw Exit,” “Lay Your Cards Out” and “Dark Star.”

Dubbed “the best band I’ve ever heard,” by Grammy winner Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Poliça released their debut album, Give You the Ghost, this past Valentine’s Day. Rap mogul Jay-Z helped launch the group by releasing the music video of their track “Lay Your Cards Out” on his Life + Times website. The band fronted by singer Channy Leaneagh has also made waves across music festivals this year including Lollapalooza, SXSW and Firefly Music Festival among others.

Next up at BLVD Social Club — Thursdays Live are The Mad Caps/Dude City on Thursday, Aug. 30, and Little Hurricane on Thursday, Sept. 6.
