Milan Revamps The Classic Men Style

News | August 24, 2012

Classic elegant and retro is the new dress code for men. As Milan received around 300.000 people for the 2012 Men’s Spring Summer Collection. Florence presented Ptti Uomo opened at the Castelo Fortezza da Basso, four incredible days full of buyers from allover the world closing with the magnificent party hosted by Riccardo Tisci at the Uffizi celebrating the retro Man collection.

GIORGIO ARMANI celebrated his birthday during the Armani Collection fashion show, the color palette included unusual shades of oat beige and contrasting pebble greys, alongside leather tones hues and ink blue – an Armani signature tone – combined with a selection of whites.

A different design concept transforms ordinary sportswear, imbuing it with a new elegance that goes beyond traditional ideas about clothing by standardizing fabrics, finishes and function. An elegance that is a reflection of sportsmanship as an attitude, something that is appropriate throughout the entire day, from morning until evening.

DOLCE & GABBANA

Unique and very Italian. The runway brings you into the Sicilian mode and the collection very tailor made reflects the perfect made in Italy. So many Sicilians, why? Because Sicily has had the fate of finding itself, over the centuries, as the link between the great Western culture and the temptations of the desert and the sun, between reason and magic, between the storms of feelings and the heat of passion. Sicily suffers from an excess of identity and I do not know whether this is good or bad. Wool or linen gauze layered with organza or veil.

Souvenir style prints reminiscent of Sicily and of traditional Sicilian barrows, “pupi” ( typical Sicilian puppets) and temples.White shirts with open collars.

Printed stripes on thick hem cloth or cotton inspired by the Sicilian beaches such as those of Taormina, Cefalù, Mondello and the Eolie islands.

DSQUARED

The fantastic Duo Den and Dean Caton presents the runway CLUB SOCIETY

The Spring Summer 2013 Dsquared² collection is inspired by the night crowd, club goers who know all the right places. They don’t follow trends, they make them and are always spotted at new underground clubs.

A collection inspired by the sound of electro music, chic and perfect for the evening with very few daytime pieces. Surprisingly, just a hint of denim on the catwalk: denim details can be found on the collar of white shirts and accessories like bibs. The collection is also reminiscent of the world of sports with neoprene thermo – sealed pieces.

VERSACE

Aggressive and impeccable, Versace starts the runway and it feels like Gianni Versace is back. The collection is strong, clean and with personality, COMBAT ROCK.

Versace Men’s collection for Spring / Summer 2013 is designed for an invincible fighter, a champion in full form. A little ‘Rocky, a little’ Elvis and a little ‘Mr. T, the look combines jewelry heavyweight and watermarks from lightweight, iridescent parkas to use as a dressing gown from ringside and pastel shades of strong impact. Here we celebrate the fighter of modern times.

DIRK BIKKENBERGS

Imagine the legendary DeLorean Back to the Future: cold pure technology and aerodynamics and now imagine the heat of realistic paintings, it is this apparent conflict that arises from the Dirk Bikkembergs new collection for spring summer 2013 by Hamish Morrow.
