Westime Announced as Official Timekeeper of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

News | July 13, 2012

When the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club begins its 75th season of horse racing on July 18th, it will have a new Official Timekeeper in Westime.

The haute watch retailer will showcase a different ‘Watch of the Week’ in the DMTCs members-only Turf Club.

The top performing jockey and trainers of the season will also have the chance to win one of the luxury watches, which will be presented during a ceremony on the final race day at the club, which was founded by Bing Crosby and his crew in 1937.

Says Westime President Greg Simonian: “Westime is very proud to partner with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Watches and horseracing have been inextricably linked for centuries–the sport even inspired watchmakers to invent new ways to track time!

“With our new Westime La Jolla boutique located just minutes from the iconic Del Mar track, the partnership couldn’t be more fitting.”

The races will last for 37 days between July 18 and September 5.
